Last year, Lord Finesse made some big headlines when he announced he was suing Mac Miller for using his beat on a mixtape, to which he claimed Millier profited heavily on Youtube and was able to do shows because of it. This put a slight strain on the mixtape game, prompting artists to be more cautious. The most public display of this has to Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa‘s Live In Concert project.
This once-free project is now going to be sold as a retail album sometime this year. Spitta took to Twitter last night to discuss how clearing all the samples and the cost has made them decide to sell it.
Spitta: “Honestly with the way the legal beagles r Finna tax us…. Live In Concert is gonna have to be a retail project… Y’all still down??”
